The Country Register of California came to life on April 26, l993. While living in Arizona I was introduced to The Country Register when a friend opened a gift shop. At that time, I remember being very impressed with the concept of the publication and wondered how I might put together a paper in California. After I learned that there was not a Southern California, The Country Register, I contacted Barbara Floyd, the originator of The Country Register. My new career was sealed. August/September of 1993 was our first issue.
In 1995, daughter Robin Schmidt came into the business as a full partner, bringing her expertise in layout and production to our team. In March, 2000 we acquired the Northern California and Northern Nevada publication to combine with our Southern California paper which has been renamed The Country Register of California and Northern Nevada. The best part of being the publishers of The Country Register of California and Northern Nevada is the manner in which our advertisers have accepted our publication.
